INDIVIDUAL SESSION:  Varsity Fielding Class

Fielding Fundamentals along with Overhand Throwing will be covered throughout the course of fall and winter.  Must have applied and been accepted into the Varsity School Program for current year or year's passed. 

Overhand throwing, pattern/accuracy/velocity work

Ground ball, fly ball, choosing hops

Funnel or push through

Transfer/exchange

Ready position, 1st step, range and FOOTWORK

Quality of contact into angles and reads

Outfield stops, returning throws, back picks and playing to situations

Flips, feeds, pivot throws, sway throws and different arm slots

Throw and catch on the run

Emergency plays- STAY ON YOUR FEET

Change of direction or adapting plays

Double plays, run downs, cuts/ relays and back pick plays

Communication systems, routines, verbal/non-verbal

Adjusting positioning with counts

Run Downs, cuts & relays, back pick plays
