Throwing VELOCITY and Arm Care Program | 5 Wk | SAT 130-230pm

The Throwing Velocity and Arm Care Program is a dynamic 5-week program led by Master Instructor, Kerri Jacklets.

In constant collaboration with Austin Wasserman MS/CSCS, PFP has integrated his proven overhand throwing principles to most safely and effectively increase velocity and distance in your throw. The program is designed to train clean throwing patterns with an emphasis on throwing velocity.  Student progress will be tracked through video analysis and speed assessments to see tangible improvement in throwing patterns and velocity.

Improve a key component of your game while learning the principles of protecting your arm in this unique throwing program.  INCREASE VELOCITY.  DECREASE INJURY.

Led by Master Instructor Kerri Jacklets and in an ongoing collaboration with Dr. Luke S. Oh, MD and Donna Moxley Scarborough, PhD, PT of MGH Sports Medicine Center; Kaila Holtz, MD, MSc; Austin Wasserman, MS, CSCS; Denise Davis BS, MBA and the entire PFP Staff, this program will integrate the teaching of proper throwing patterns with exercises and protocols proven to reduce the chance of injury while strengthening the body for optimal throwing performance.

During this 5-week program, you will focus on:

  • Efficient mechanics and throwing patterns through using the ground to produce force.
  • How to create resistance in your throw by using the kinetic chain.
  • How to properly warm up your arm using band protocols and dynamic warmups with a purpose.
  • Building explosive leg and pelvis and posterior movements to promote ground force reaction.
  • Arm conditiioning and recovery protocols will be covered.  The class will include band, medicine ball, weighted ball and distance throwing each week.
